Internship: Fisher Fine Arts Library, Penn Libraries

2 positions available, 15 hours / week, paid internships with the Fisher Fine Arts Library.

The Fisher Fine Arts Library Intern will be responsible for identifying parts of the arts and design collections for digitization, promotion, and development. This will include surveying the Fisher’s rare and specialized collections; investigating collection development needs; and focusing on parts of the collection that should be digitized and described in Shared Shelf, a digital asset management system. By extension, the intern will improve internal Shared Shelf documentation, as well as external guides on image rights and use. In order to promote the library’s collections, spaces, and programs, the intern will be responsible for posting regularly to the library’s social media account.

In addition to the responsibilities above, the intern will provide online and in-person reference assistance at the Van Pelt Dietrich-Library Center’s public services hub, and participate in a wider program to teach bibliographic instruction to first-year students at Penn.
