With the Visual Resources Association Foundation Internship award, sponsored by Samuel H. Kress Foundation, around the corner, I wanted to prime everyone’s pump for applying for internships! Some opportunities currently available:

Preservation Digital Technology Internship at the Library of Congress:

  • The goal of the internship is to provide Library Science and Information Technology students with the opportunity to study and work with state-of-the-art digital technologies for digital reformatting of library materials.
    If you are accepted, a minimum of 250 hours — on a part-time or full-time schedule — is generally required.

Various Internships at the Smithsonian Libraries (deadline April 1 or until filled):

  • Native American Artist Files; Educational Programs and Resource Development; Chesapeakiana Collection Project

Cataloging Internship_Summer 2017 (Guggenheim Museum Library, with stipend)

  • The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is currently recruiting for a Cataloging Internship available in the Library department for our upcoming summer 2017 session (June 1August 11). The Guggenheim offers stipends to all participating interns – $500 for undergraduate-level students, and $1,000 for graduate-level students. These stipends will be awarded to all applicants who are accepted into our summer 2017 cycle!
